Per l'occasione è prevista la convocazione di un Consiglio comunale straordinario nel mese di settembre 2026, con la partecipazione delle rappresentanze istituzionali della città gemellata. Durante la cerimonia verranno donati due mosaici artistici realizzati dalla Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli di Spilimbergo, raffiguranti gli stemmi dei due Comuni. Un mosaico sarà donato a Simbach am Inn, l'altro resterà a Tolmezzo come simbolo del rinnovato legame di amicizia.
